IDIA Charitable Trust is currently seeking applications for the position of ‘Accounts Manager’. We are looking for a committed, passionate, skilled and dynamic accountant to be a part of our core team for taking IDIA to new heights.

The Organisation
The IDIA Charitable Trust (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education) is a pan India organisation that trains underprivileged students and helps transform them into leading lawyers and community leaders. IDIA’s activities include sensitising students at senior secondary schools throughout the country to the benefits of a career in law, identifying and training meritorious students from diverse backgrounds for law school entrance exams, providing scholarships and support for students once they reach the nation’s premier law schools, and promoting the development of community leadership from within underprivileged communities.

Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduate (
Experience: 2 to 4 years relevant work experience

Job Description:
You will be in-charge of administering and managing all of IDIA’s accounts. However, you will not just be an executor but will also be expected to be a proactive problem solver and a thinker who can recommend new solutions and approaches. In particular, your role will include:
• Maintaining all the accounts of IDIA.
• Ensuring full compliance with all relevant good practices in tax and accounts management
• Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Administering payrolls and keeping an updated account of pays/salaries and leaves etc of employees
• Documenting financial transactions meticulously and maintaining updated records.
• Advising IDIA top level management on accounts related issues and proactively proposing ways to function better.
• Assisting with tax audits, tax reporting and tax returns.
• Summarizing current financial status by collating and organising information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, budget and other reports.
• Establishing the best accounting policies and procedures.
• Securing financial information by completing data base backups.
• Transferring salary, reimbursements and other amounts to beneficiaries.
• Assisting in office related administrative work.
• Co-ordinating with chartered accountants for audit purposes.
• Ensuring that accounts of the organisation comply with all legal requirements.
• Contributing to team effort by executing all tasks within the deadline.
• Taking on any other duties as directed by the senior management.
• Traveling within the city for any administrative work associated with the above

Skills Required

• Thorough knowledge of Basic Accounting principles, rules and standards.
• General Maths skills.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and tax/accounts standards.
• Decent communication skills.
• Good exposure to accounting softwares such as Tally ERP 9, MS Office (Excel and Word).
• Knowledge and experience in handling statutory and payroll.

The applicant should show sincerity and dedication; and would be required to be very diligent and hardworking. The applicant should maintain strict confidentiality, have very good time management skills, and be a master of details.

Salary: Will be commensurate with skills and experience, and will be on par with similar positions in the non-profit sector.
